Overview[]
The SCAR-H is a fully-automatic battle rifle, unlocked at rank 23. Sharing quite a few qualities with DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle)s, it is very accurate and can do massive damage in a short amount of time. Great in Sudden Death, where you need to kill your enemy before they deal any damage to you.
Downside is, the SCAR-H has such a low ammo pool, you can empty it before the Ammo Box can respawn. Use those bullets wisely and hit your shots.
Backstory[]
The SCAR-H is a highly effective and durable battle rifle originally designed for US Special Forces.
It was favored for it's functionality, combining the accuracy of rifles like the M14 EBR with CQC capabilities to make an effective rifle in all situations.
It was also popular for it's modularity. The version shown here is chambered to the 7.62 NATO cartridge.
Due to them only having been used by Special Forces groups, the SCAR series has become exceedingly rare and expensive for Survivors to obtain.
Tips[]
- If you have great aim with the SCAR-H, you can destroy zombies/survivors in any range.
- The SCAR-H deals a lot of damage in a short amount of time if you land your headshots. It's a suitable weapon for the PVP gamemode Sudden Death, but not very good at Deathmatch if you catch yourself at a crowded place with lots of Survivors around.
- The SCAR-H's bullets can go through 2 zombies until it doesn't do damage.
- This is called "bullet penetration" or "bullet punch".
- This is one of the guns that can penetrate through a Riot Zombie's shield.
- However, the damage when hitting a Riot Zombie's shield is very weak (SCAR-H has 25% Riot Shield penetration). Try to hit their arms or their back when they're not looking at you.
- Pair the SCAR-H with the Serbu Super Shorty or other secondaries suited for close range to do consistent damage to middle-to-long ranges and do huge damage at close range.
- If you equipped the PM-II scope on the SCAR-H, do not be afraid to hip-fire on close-range targets, as the SCAR-H doesn't have very bad hip-fire spread like the AWP has.
- Although, the SCAR-H has more recoil when unscoped, or when hipfiring.
Trivia[]
- This gun is the first Battle Rifle.
- The M1 Garand could also be considered a battle rifle but it is more of a sniper-style weapon in Dread.
- This gun was leaked in BakonBot's twitter.
- The real-life SCAR-H has 600 RPM, but the in-game counterpart used to have a fire-rate of 240 RPM.
- This was changed in the 1.45 update.
- Despite having the same caliber and similar barrel size as the M1 Garand, it does noticeably less damage.
