Overview

The M4 Carbine is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A1 assault rifle, it has a high firerate and deals a very high amount of damage in a short amount of time, while keeping the average magazine size of an automatic rifle.

The very low time to kill makes the M4 Carbine a very good assault rifle for PVP gamemodes, although it's high fire-rate makes it empty the mag faster. You might find yourself with a dry weapon sooner than you think if you are not careful with your trigger finger.

Background

While the M16 series would prove itself to be a capable weapon of war, it had a few problems.

Mainly being it's weight and size. This bulkiness made it harder to use in close-quarters combat, which was quickly becoming more common before the apocalypse started.

The M4 Carbine was the response to this. Lighter, shorter and bearing more modern features, the M4 Carbine is extremely effective for it's price.

Survivors would often use M4's left at Military outposts that were abandoned during the first few weeks of the apocalypse.

Tips

• Since the M4 Carbine has a very fast rate of fire, you will have less time to hit your shots and may end up running out of ammo in the wrong time if you aren't careful.
  • Aim for the head to deal a massive amount of damage and kill enemies faster, and to conserve your ammo.
    • With aiming for the head, you could kill a Bloodsucker and a Normal Zombie in less than a second.
• Keep in mind that you can use it at mid-to-long range because it has a pretty decently high range.
  • The Silencer increases the M4 Carbine's long-range potential further.
• This gun is very good for the War Games category, since it has a high DPS, good accuracy and range.
• It is very recommended to aim down the sights with the M4 Carbine, as it would reduce about half of the recoil.

Trivia

• The weapon ingame seems to be a M4A1 due to it's full auto capability because M4's are burst while M4A1's are automatic.
• More accurate than the AK-47 and the RPK.
• The M4 is the first carbine to be added to the game.
• The M4 is one of the M16s variants used & built by the United States.
  • Which is the same as the M16A1.
• Treat this as a better version of the MP5 and M16A1.
  • The only difference is that the M4 Carbine reloads slightly slower.
